I bought my wife a set of Saber knives the Christmas before last. 10 months later the 6" utility knife broke. Fine, I call the owner of Saber (Rich) and he explains "oh they had a problem with that particular knife". He sent me a new, serrated 6" utility. One month later the 7" Santoku broke, and this time I was cut. I was PI$$ED and called again for an explanation. He assured me he had never had anyone with two broken knives. Gave me a story about how much he trusts these knives, then sent me a new set of his best knives. This afternoon, my wife was cutting some smoked salmon fillets with one of the steak knives and guess what? Yes, ANOTHER BROKEN KNIFE!This is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. You can and will be cut. The metal used in these knives is FLAWED. When have you ever seen a steel knife BREAK INTO TWO PIECES? You cannot trust these knives. We always hand washed these knives and have never abused them. A good knife should last many, many years and NEVER break in half. Read the reviews carefully. About half of the (REAL) reviews mention broken knives. Don't risk your or your loved ones hands, feet or safety with these FLAWED KNIVES! You have been warned."I pricked my left index finger once by accident. No big deal, hardly any blood. However it severed the tendon. Almost put an end to my guitar playing. Two surgeries and a year of PT later (and thousands of dollars) I got movement back. Hand and finger injuries can be very serious. Don't risk it with these flawed knives.I went out last night and got a nice set of Henckels (Twins Four Star) made in Germany which can be had for just slightly more than these.There is some very good quality merchandise coming out of China these days. Sadly, these knives are not among them. This very important consumer safety issue has been brought to the attention of the importer (Rich) as well as Amazon and Costco and has so far been ignored. So please, get something else.
