Great stone once you learn how to use it

This stone does a fantastic job of making a sharp blade razor sharp. You do need to know how to angle the knive being sharpened though, otherwise you will ruin the stone (use a blade angle guide or two pennies). If your knives cut through tomatoes only with some extra effort, then this stone is perfect for you. If your knives glide over the skin and don't cut into the tomato, then you should start with a lesser grit stone and then use this stone. This stone is more for ultra fine sharpning than general sharpning. My Global knives can now cut through tomatoes with almost no effort after using this stone.
