This knife is a perfect weight that fits well in the hand. The 6 inch blade makes it a good all purpose chef knife. This knife, together with the paring and nikiri knives are a great trio for any kitchen. Like all Shun knives, they hold a good edge and are wicked sharp. Time to put a lock on my knife drawer!!

It is a sharp knife but only about 2mm thick. It would be more useful if it is thicker and heavier.
